I am spoiled

Have I told you lately what wonderful people I work with? I didn't even realize that Wednesday was Administrative Assistant's Day, but the people I work with did. They are so good to me. I came in the office and there was a beautiful bouquet of flowers with a card and a gift certificate from the manager's that I work with. Plus the entire office took me out to lunch. They are wonderful people who are very good to me. Sometimes it is hard to juggle a very busy family and work, but they make it very easy. I never have to choose between my job and my family. Family comes first and they always completely support that.

The Prom

Last weekend Austin went to his first "Prom". He was so cute because he was so nervous and yet so excited at the same time.

I have to tell you, dances are not the way they used to be - I must be getting old because when I went to dances, we went to dinner, the dance, and then usually to somebody's home after, to hang out and watch a movie. Now they are a weekend affair. I couldn't believe all that these boy's planned for this date. First, on Friday night they all went and played laser tag and then to watch a movie. Then Saturday morning, they got up and went to do their "Day activity" - which was breakfast and horse back riding. Then they all went home and got ready for the prom. They went to one of the boy's homes and had a really nice dinner, then to the prom, then went and hung out after the dance. WOW!!!

I tried to tell Austin that this was quite a bit considering he didn't know the girl that he took very well. Can you say - mom's know best? He had an alright time but the girl that he took didn't talk to him all that much, instead she was texting half the night and by the end of the date, he couldn't wait to get home. Whatever happened to just going to dinner and the dance? Anyway, he looked so handsome and was such a gentleman. I was quite proud of him.

Hiking

Today was so nice outside that we decided to go on a family hike after church. It was beautiful. We only had about an hour before we went to my parents home for "Family Home Evening", but we were able to hike up to a small waterfall and play in the river for a few minutes. It was warm enough that it was comfortable, but not too warm. I think my muscles might be a little sore tomorrow, but it was well worth it. We are thinking that we might go again in a couple of weeks and hike up to the big waterfall. It was another great day. I love spending time with my family.

Craft Day

Saturday was a great day. Mekenzie had a band concert at the University of Utah. Craig and I got up early to watch her - she played at 8:30 am. They did a great job and the building they performed in was beautiful.

After we left there, Craig and I went to breakfast and then ran a few errands.

I have been meaning to do a fun craft with my girls for a while and we didn't have a lot going on in the afternoon so I got out the craft. We took Book of Mormon's and covered them with scrapbook paper that the girls had picked out. Then we took ribbon and brads and decorated them. They turned out so cute. I thought it would be really cute to do the same thing with journals too.

The Beauty Shop

Morgan got her hair done a couple of weeks ago and neither one of us really liked it. We both felt it was just too red. She wanted to go to someone else and get it fixed. I don't know about you, but I had already spent about $65.00 and I wasn't about to spend another $65.00 or more to go get it "fixed". So I asked her if she trusted me and she said that she did. I told her that I used to do this all of the time with my cousin and it alway's turned out. So last Monday night we went out to ice cream for family night and then Morgan and I opened up the Beauty Shop and started working on her hair. I pulled it through a cap and just put good, ole, bleach on it. It turned out darling and it only cost me $8.00. Here are some pictures.

Great Day!!!

I had the best day today. I took the day off and I am so glad that I did. I got so much accomplished.

I started my day at 7:00 am.
I washed and rehung all the curtains and drapes in my house.
I cleaned out every cupboard and drawer in my kitchen - both inside and out.
I went and got some totes to organize some of my drawers.
I tackled all my little piles. (I can't stand messes, so I stack things in piles until I can get to them - I know it is a little weird but I would rather have a pile than a mess).
I worked on and finished Austin and Kelsey's taxes.
I made a nice dinner for my family.
I did some work at home.
I am covering some books - and I got the paper all cut for that.
I went and picked up Morgan from school for her softball game, and then the game was cancelled - too bad!!!
The best part of the day was going to lunch with Craig. (He didn't have to work because the roads were shut down). It was nice to hang out with him.

I love days like this!
