First Day of School

Summer flew by so fast, I can't believe that school is starting again. I really hate it when the kids go back to school. Some mothers think I'm crazy but I love my kids being home so I can spend time with them. I really feel sad this time of year because I know that summer is coming to an end and my kids go back to school and I just want it to be May again. I think I will have to talk to God about that.

Here is our adorable Mekenzie. She is a Sophomore this year. She has been a little nervous for High School, but I'm sure she will love it. Have a great year Mekenzie!!!

Austin is a Senior this year. I can't believe how time has flown by. I remember his first day of kindergarten and I cried and cried. Morgan thought he was going somewhere terrible and didn't want him going back. Austin is taking a lot of hard classes this year so that he can prepare to go into nursing. I am so proud of him!

Morgan is also a sophomore. She has been so excited to get into High School. I'm sure she will have a lot of fun. She can't wait to go to the football games, participate in Homecoming Week, be with her friends, and hang out with all the "Boy's"! Have a great year Morg!!!

Mother's Worst Nightmare

About 2 weeks ago, Mallorey and Kelsey were driving when a young teenage kid sideswiped them. Thank goodnes they were OK and the car only had a little bit of damage. It is actually in the body shop being repaired right now.

Last Friday I got a call from Morgan, "Mom, Austin and I have just been in a car accident." Talk about making your heart skip a beat. I said, "Are you both OK"? Yes we are fine and the other people involved are fine too. (I think I should have taught my children to say "WE ARE OK BUT... we have had a small accident - that way I would still have the 10 years it took off my life to hear those words). I asked what happened and she told me that there was a man crossing the road and a truck slammed on his brakes to avoid the man, which made the next car slam on their brakes, which made Austin slam on his brakes - the only problem was he also slammed right into the car in front of him.

Everyone involved in the accident was just fine, but it sure scarred me. It shook the kids up too! It's funny because I had a bad feeling before they left, and the last thing I said to them, was to be careful.

I am so grateful that although 4 of my children have been involved in car accidents in the last 2 weeks, they are all OK. Wow am I blessed.

Flower Garden

I have always wanted to have beautiful flower gardens, but I do not have a green thumb at all, in fact I can't stand working in the yard! Some people think it is so relaxing and soothing - I find it dirty, itchy and not so fun at all.

Well, last year I decided to get brave and ask Craig to help me with a flower garden. We went and spent a fortune on these flowers, and they didn't even look all that great. Craid told me that they would look better this year and he was so right - I was pleasently surprised with my little flower garden. I still have more work to do next year as far as "filling in" but I figure it is a good start.
