Postponed

I am so relieved. Kelsey and Joey have decided to postpone their wedding date to next spring or summer - WHEW!!!

They are just so young and not mature enough to be married. They both have very part time jobs and not near enough money to make ends meet.

By waiting, Kelsey will be finished with her cosmetology school and hopefully have a job in a salon. Joey will hopefully get a full time job and they both will be able to save some money.

I have been so stressed with...
They didn't know where they were going to live.
They didn't have ANY money - I mean NONE - ZILCH!
They didn't have a clue where they were going to get any money.
They didn't have one thing for their home - NONE!
They didn't have a plan.

It was upsetting me so badly, that I didn't even feel like myself. So I am now feeling much relief and I can enjoy the summer without all of the pressure of planning a wedding, but more importantly - without all the stress of the situation they were getting themselves into.

Birdie

Photobucket
I feel like I haven't been able to spend much quality time with my kids lately so I decided to dedicate last Thursday to the kids.

First I went golfing with Austin and I was so excited because I got a "birdie" - the first one in my life. For those of you that don't golf, a birdie means that you shot 1 under par. So, it was a par 3 hole and I scored a 2. YEAH. I also managed to get a couple of pars. Just when I think that I will NEVER improve in the game of golf, I did a little better than normal. The tricky part is to keep improving.

After the golf game, Austin and I went to get some lunch. Then he had to go to work, so I went and picked Morgan and Mekenzie up and went shopping. Morgan wanted an IPOD for her birthday so we went and got that, and Mekenzie wanted a new camera so we found and bought one for her.

What a nice day to just hang out with the kids. I really would like to spend one day a week just doing something that the kids and I can enjoy together. I love it when they are out of school so that we can be together more often.

Morgan's Birthday

Happy Birthday to Morgan.

I can't believe my baby girl is 15 years old. Morgan wanted a new IPOD for her birthday, so she gathered all of her birthday money and we went and bought her an IPOD.

When I was pregnant with Morgan, I just knew she was going to be a boy - I wanted a little girl so bad, so I convinced myself that she was a boy so that I wouldn't be dissappointed.

I love hanging out with Morgan, she is a lot of fun. I love going shopping with her, I love taking her places, and just being with her.

I am so proud of her. She works really hard at everything she does. She works hard at softball, at school, and at anything she does.

Here are some words to describe Morgan...

Cruise

For Kelsey's graduation gift, she wanted to go on a cruise. So Craig and I took Kelsey and her friend Angela on a cruise to Mexico.

We left on Saturday and went to San Diego and got on the ship. It was the Carnival Elation. Kelsey really wanted to go on Carnival because of the "free ice cream".

Sunday, we had a fun day at sea where we just walked around, layed out (even though it was a little chilly), and ate. (Can you believe you would eat on a cruise)?

Monday we went to Cabo San Lucas where Kelsey and Angela parasailed, we went to a fun beach and had nachos, shopped, swam and had a great time. After the beach, we did some more shopping and then went back to the ship.

Tuesday was another fun day on the ship. We played some card games, played a name that tune game, did some shopping on the cruise, and ate some more.

Wednesday we went to Ensanada and I stayed on the ship because I don't really like that place, but Kelsey, Angela, and Craig went to see the blow hole. There are only 3 of them in the world and so the girls wanted to see it. They also went to the flea market and Angela got a taste of bardering. I stayed on the ship and read, layed out for a little while, and relaxed.

Thursday we got back to port in San Diego and went to Sea World. I hadn't been to Sea World since I was little and I loved it. We saw the dolphin show, the Shamoo show, and the sea lion show. We rode some rides and looked at some exhibits.

What a fun vacation. Other memories of the vacation...

Angela met a guy who is leaving on a mission and she plans to write him.
The restaurant on the beach got a little WILD.
Our wonderful waiter - Marvin.
The night they ate escargo.
Getting very, very sunburnt in San Diego.

Kelsey's Graduation

So , I am a little behind - but I will catch up.

Kelsey graduated on May 30, 2008. There were times that her dad and I wondered if she would really graduate from high school, but she did with no problem at all. Way to go Kels!!! I am really proud of her because she has really stepped up and been more responsible lately.

Her graduating class was about 750 kids - if you can believe that. The ceremony was really nice and after the graduation, we took her and her fiance out to a nice dinner (Kobe's). It was so delicious, it is definitely one of my favorite restaurants.
